The other day I came across a verse that God used to prompt me to write this post. If you are a mom or have someone else you want to pray for specifically, I hope you will join me as I do this for the next 7 days. It struck me that I need reminders during the day to be praying over my girls, and I decided to choose 7 events in a day that would remind me to do so. Then, I chose verses that had to do with that time of the day for example as my kids are getting dressed in the morning and then I put them on notecards. Here are the events and verses I chose 1. When they wake up Let the morning bring childs name word of your unfailing love, for she has put her trust in You. Show herhim the way shehe should go, for to you heshe lifts up her soul. For my children, husband, family, friends, country, those in need, etc., etc. As a mother, it has been so pivotal for my children to hear me praying out loud over them, and I want to commit to do this every day seven times a day for the next week. Transform Your Prayer Life With Prayer Box Dividers. I usually post stuff on this site for your kids, but today, this post is for YOU. God is calling you to have a personal relationship and prayer life with him. I started realizing, if Im not cultivating my personal relationship with Jesus, what am I doing the rest of this stuff for This is what its all about As I started feeling a strong calling to strengthen my prayer life, a friend of mine was being convicted of the same thing. So together, we brainstormed, and came up with these prayer box dividers. These are hands down the best way I have every found to organize prayer intentions and personal prayer. This has been such an amazing tool for me, and has taken my prayer life to a new level My new years resolution this year is to use the box every. Im very excited Also, Im really happy to be sharing something with you guys that Ive already been using on and off for about 6 months now. Its so great to have some sufficient time to try something out before recommending it to a friend. Last year, I heard someone mention the term popcorn prayers, which refers to praying for something whenever it happens to pop into your head. Theres nothing wrong with popcorn prayers its always great to pray However, I dont want to only remember to pray for my children, my homeschool, the military, our government, church leaders, or my marriage only when it happens to pop into my head. I wanted a more organized way for these important intentions not to fall between the cracks. These prayer box has been amazing for this How This Prayer Box Works So heres the system. You build a prayer box from an index card box with the printable dividers that you can download at the bottom of this post. Whatever you want to pray for every single day goes behind the Daily tab. NoteThere are actually 2 different choices for this in the download. I expanded my box to have one divider for morning prayers, and one for evening prayers rather than having only 1 daily tab, but both options are available. The next dividers say Even and Odd for the even and odd calendar days. You take anything that you want to pray for every other day, and divide them evenly among the tabs. Next, there is a set of days of the week dividers that run Sunday through Saturday. You split anything up that you want to pray for weekly behind these tabs. Lastly, there is a set of numbered dividers running 1 3. These are for anything you want to remember to pray for monthly. So if the date was Monday, January 5, you would pray the intentions behind your Daily tab or Morning and Evening tabsthe prayers behind the Odd tabwhatever you pray for on Mondaysand whatever you pray for on the 5th of each month. Pros To Using A Prayer Box When you have an intention you want to pray for, you can choose if its something you want to pray for daily, every other day, weekly, or monthly. Then you file it accordingly. Done Youll never forget againUnlike a prayer journal, its easy to re arrange things. For instance, you were praying weekly for Aunt Margie who has cancer, but her condition has really worsened and she doesnt have much time left, so you move her behind the daily or every other day tab. When you tell someone you will pray for them, youll have a system to make it actually happen Its very easy to add intentions from your box just a matter of jotting it down on a note card and putting it in, and easy to take back out or re file any time. You can file anything small behind the dividers holy cards, pieces of scratch paper, ripped out pages from your magnificat folded in half, and my favorite thing photographsIdeas For What To Put In Your Box My official advice  here is that when youre first building your box, dont over think it. I dont suggest stuffing it full of every single thing you ever wish you ever prayed for. Just take an honest look at what you feel called to pray for, and how often you want to pray for those things. Remember there is nothing permanent about where you place thingsIf it turns out youve put too many things to handle behind the daily tab, simply move it to weekly, and so on. Widows and orphans. Shut ins. Prayer for those who are persecuted for their faith. Your childs future spouse. Political Leaders. Spiritual Leaders. Non believers. Vocations. Military. World Peace. I personally wanted to make sure my prayer life included all the kinds of prayer, since all too often, I think its easy for us to fall into the trap of only praying when we want something. I take out the photo, and meditate on it for a few minutes.
